The exhibition The Floor is Lava is Tamar Hecht’s first solo exhibition after graduating from the Bezalel Academy. It is an installation sculpture exhibition that takes place inside the studio where Hecht works, maintaining continuous communication with Allenby Street. The materials in the exhibition come from shops around the studio. These materials undergo digestion processes within the studio space and emerge in their new configuration in the shop window. The exhibition presents Hecht’s strong obsession with Sidekit stores and explores the gap between the pleasure and playfulness of studio work and the heaviness of existing reality.
